WHEDCo’s Urban Horizons Kitchen program is aims to incubate businesses through the contribution of financial opportunities to the community by offering emerging food companies affordable space in a fully licensed commercial kitchen.
The state-of-the-art, 4,000 square foot commercial kitchen is available on a per diem or monthly basis and fees are competitive for longer-term rentals. It is ideal for caterers, bakers, and food and beverage manufacturers in need of equipment and unable to afford a commercial kitchen.
Manufacturers in our kitchen create, store, and pack a variety of specialty food products.
Tenants include:
• Rasol Empanadas, which recently doubled its kitchen space in order to satisfy surging demand for its product
• Evie's Organic Gourmet, a manufacturer of high-end baby food products and frozen ready-to-eat meals that are delivered to the doorstep
• Adepa Foods, a producer of Ghanaian shito sauce (a spicy red sauce popular in West Africa)
• Munchies Cookies, a vegan cookie manufacturer supplying Whole Foods
